It’s fundamental. Strong, productive communities must first be safe communities. While community safety is an emerging area of interest for The UPS Foundation, it is a long-standing imperative for UPS.
Each year our drivers are among the safest on the roads and UPS is widely recognized as a reliable and steadfast partner in providing relief supplies to communities devastated by disaster. The work of The UPS Foundation brings together UPS expertise and philanthropic dollars to address areas of critical importance to improving the safety of communities and the effectiveness of organizations committed to assisting them in times of need.
UPS has a long-standing reputation as a leading provider of transportation and logistics services
in times of disaster. The Foundation is supporting organizations that are injecting new thinking
and innovative solutions to further leverage UPS’s skills in this area.
Since 2007, The Foundation has supported Aidmatrix, a nongovernmental organization whose Aidmatrix Network operates in conjunction with the U.S. Federal Emergency Management
Agency and serves 80 percent of the U.S. population. The network’s purpose is to improve the ability of getting the right relief aid to the right people at the right time. The Foundation supported the expansion of the donation management system and the development of a transportation portal to deliver donations prioritized by relief agencies. Learn more.
