Nonprofit Effectiveness

Since the launch of our Volunteer Impact Initiative in 1999, The UPS Foundation has focused on helping nonprofit organizations operate more effectively and efficiently. Widely regarded as a well-run company, UPS provides non-profits a variety of management and operational expertise in areas such as human resources management, technology, and other knowledge resources. This provides a robust “hands on” component that supports the foundation’s philanthropy. It’s the perfect example of taking the core assets of the corporation and applying them in a way that helps the independent sector address society’s many challenges.

Most nonprofit agencies face daunting tasks in raising funds, analyzing needs, managing volunteers and measuring results. With its employees and families
volunteering more than 1.2 million hours of their time each year, UPS understands these challenges first hand. Helping nonprofit agencies more effectively manage them can further the impact of the services they provide to local communities.
The UPS Foundation is focusing its resources on such areas as volunteer management, leadership development, social enterprise, and capacity
building through new technology.
