In partnership with NASCAR, the UPS Racing Technical Edge Scholarship is geared towards future minority NASCAR
drivers, crew members and technicians who want to attend the NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) in Mooresville, N.C. UPS
scholarship recipients were selected based on financial need, automotive work experience and automotive-related career
goals.

Unique among scholarship programs, The UPS Foundation's Community Service Scholars Program encourages students to be
leaders at school and in the community. In exchange for US$5,000 annual scholarships, students from participating
Atlanta colleges must demonstrate financial need and are required to spend 150 hours each semester mentoring and tutoring
students at local elementary schools.

INROADS is a program that identifies, trains, and develops talented minority youth. INROADS places college students as
summer interns in business and industry to gain hands-on experience and prepare for a future in business. Corporations
have the opportunity to develop these students as future employees. UPS supports the college component of INROADS by
providing a $2,500 scholarship to select interns annually.

Administered by the National Safety Council (NSC), this scholarship provides juniors and seniors enrolled in an
accredited college or university program with financial support that will assist them in completing their studies and
obtaining a degree in safety, environmental health or traffic engineering. Each year, two US$12,500 scholarships are
awarded. This cooperative scholarship between UPS and NSC contributes to the development of new and innovative approaches
to safety and health issues.

James E. Casey Scholarship Program
The James E. Casey Scholarship Program was established in 1963 for the purpose of offering scholarship support to
children of UPS employees who planned to enter four-year degree programs at colleges and universities. Scholarships
are awarded in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $6,000 per year over four years of undergraduate study at a college or
university. These programs also include scholarships for Achievement Scholars, Merit Scholars, Canadian and Mexican
students.
The competition for the scholarships is open to any student who is a U.S. citizen and whose parent is a regular UPS
employee on the date of the student's application and at the time of award.

The George D. Smith Scholarship Program
The George D. Smith Scholarship Program was established in 1983 to provide support for children of full-time UPS
employees who are high school seniors planning to enroll in full-time courses of study of two years or less. The
scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per year.
Eligible programs include those at business schools, vocational-technical schools, and associate degree programs at
four-year colleges and universities. The programs must result in either an associate degree or another formal
certification of skills.
