The UPS Global Volunteer Week is an extension of the long-standing commitment to volunteerism and is the year’s culminating event for employee volunteers.  For the past three years, thousands of UPS employees in more than 45 countries have helped paint schools, assist food banks, renovate shelters and complete many other tasks in their communities.  In 2005, more than 20,000 employees from Asia and Latin America to the United States and Europe participated in at least one activity over the seven days of service.

Hong Kong, China - UPS Hong Kong employees promoted the message of harmony and integration to 100 kids who came from different backgrounds in the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children.

Shanghai, China - UPS CEO Mike Eskew volunteered at the Shanghai Children's Medical Centre and presented a $50,000 check to Project Hope Hong Kong Foundation for heart surgery for orphans with congenital heart disease.

Mexico City, Mexico - UPS partnered with World Association of Girl guides and Girls Scouts (WAGGS) to plant trees in Mexico City.

Atlanta, Georgia - Jim Winestock, senior vice president of U.S. operations, reads to students at Fickett Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - 45 UPS employees and family members helped to clean up the Jumeirah Coastline in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
